This is a 19th-century needlework sampler dated 1839 and signed by Susanna Rolfe. 
The piece features alphabet rows, a moral verse from Proverbs 27:1, and a central potted flower motif.
It is in a period frame. I have not removed it. It is 17 inches wide by 21 inches tall by one and three-quarter inches deep. This piece is in age appropriate condition. It does have some imperfections, small holes and loss.
